A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF FIRESTONE
TERMINATING THE DECLARATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY FOR THE TOWN OF
FIRESTONE
WHEREAS, pursuant to his authority in the Colorado Disaster Emergency Act at C.R.S.
§ 24-33.5-709, Town Manager Wesley LaVanchy declared a local disaster emergency on
September 12, 2013 in response to heavy rains and flooding occurring throughout Weld County
and in the Town from September 9 to September 15, 20139 and
WHEREAS, on September 18, 2013, the Board of Trustees adopted a resolution
extending the declaration of disaster emergency; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees finds that the local disaster emergency conditions no
longer exist and that the declaration of local disaster emergency should be terminated.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF FIRESTONE, COLORADO:
1. That the declaration of local disaster emergency for the Town of Firestone,
Colorado issued by the Town Manager on September 12, 2013 and extended by the Board of
Trustees on September 18, 2013 is hereby terminated.
2. A copy of this resolution shall be filed promptly with the Town Clerk, the County
Clerk and Recorder, and the Colorado Division of Emergency Management,
INTRODUCED, READ, and ADOPTED this 9th day of October, 2013.
