HomeMy WebLinkAboutStay in the Know - Marijuana Ballot Question Discussion - 7/13/2021Stay in the Know: Marijuana Ballot Question Discussion at Board Meeting At the Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, the Board of Trustees will discuss what a potential ballot question for authorizing marijuana businesses in Town and setting forth licensing regulations for such businesses might look like. Additionally, the Board will discuss an additional ballot question that would implement taxes on marijuana. Recently, the Town of Firestone was contacted by groups interested in circulating a petition and gathering signatures for a ballot issue that would authorize marijuana businesses in Town and set forth licensing regulations for such businesses. The Board of Trustees met in a Work Session on June 16th to discuss this process and whether or not the Town should work with the petitioners to develop licensing favorable regulations. The Board of Trustees is seeking public feedback, and is encouraging the public to attend in person, or join the meeting via Zoom to provide public comment on this matter.
