Mrs. Andersen served the Town in various capacities but finished her tenure as the Town Manager. She worked for the Town during a time when the community saw many great achievements. The Mayor, Board of Trustees, Town Staff, and the public in attendance all supported this award and gave thanks to Mrs. Andersen for her commitment to the community. Rezoning Approved After a public hearing, the Board of Trustees approved Ordinance 1040 to rezone the Coal Ridge Village property, located north of Grant Avenue and south of Saddleback Golf Course. This property was initially annexed and zoned in 1976 as part of the Zadel Annexation. The property was rezoned from R-1, Neighborhood Center (NC), and High-Density Residential (R-C) to Low- Density Residential A (R-A), with approximately 1.5 acres in the southeast corner as Neighborhood Center (NC). The new rezoning is consistent with the 2013 Firestone Master Plan. Zoning (or rezoning) is the step that needs to be completed before beginning the subdivision process and requires action by the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Trustees. Central Park Communication Updates In December of 2023, the Board of Trustees approved an MOU and Advisory Services Agreement with P3 Advisors LLC to perform due diligence and feasibility analysis for possible development on a Town-owned parcel commonly known as Central Park. Starting with the meeting held on Wednesday, P3 Advisors will meet monthly with the Board of Trustees to provide updates and receive direction on the feasibility study. During the meeting on Wednesday, P3 shared their engagement and communication plan. Soon, there will be a dedicated website for their efforts on the feasibility study. The website will serve as a virtual community forum that will allow residents to provide feedback on information presented about Central Park at their convenience. The website will include visuals, facts, draft plans and options, quick polls, and an opportunity for residents to register for email updates. Once the website is live, the Town will share it through all of our communication channels and link to it from our website. The next update from P3 will be held during the Work Session on Wednesday, February 21, at 6:00 p.m. Central Park FAQʼs On January 19th, the Town of Firestone sent communication to the public inviting anyone to submit questions about Central Park to be answered during the Board of Trustees meeting on January 24th. Between then, 31 questions were submitted. During the meeting on Wednesday night, Town Staff and the Board of Trustees responded to all 31 questions. We encourage the community to listen to the conversation by viewing the video of the meeting. This portion of the meeting begins at 1 hour, 37 minutes. Over the next few weeks, these written questions and answers will be added to the Townʼs website for anyone to review. In addition, the question form will remain active on the website. If you have additional questions about Central Park, please submit them, and they will be answered during Central Park discussions that will be held monthly during Work Sessions. View more information and access the question form by visiting www.firestoneco.gov/CentralPark.
