Central Park Website Now Live! - 2/14/2024
Central Park Website Now Live! Stay Connected. Be Involved. A new Central Park website has launched to provide a unique opportunity for community members to educate themselves and participate in the conversation surrounding the development of Central Park. >> https://centralparkfirestone.com/<< On this new website, community members are invited to share ideas and provide feedback on potential scenarios based on what is economically feasible. This is a new opportunity for the community to stay connected on this project and provide feedback virtually. The goal is to ensure that everyoneʼs voice is heard and has an opportunity to participate, with the goal of co- creating an inspiring and realistic vision for Central Park. Members of the public can create an account and sign up for updates through this website, so you donʼt miss an opportunity to participate and provide your thoughts. Over the coming months, public input will be sought after gathering feedback and studying the economics, engineering, and other aspects of the site. Next Steps Wednesday, February 21, will be the next in the series of monthly Work Sessions devoted to Central Park. After this meeting, the website will be updated to solicit feedback based on this discussion. The Work Session is open to the public and will be streamed online. Date: Wednesday, February 21, 2024 Time: 6:00 p.m. Location: Board Room, 9900 Park Avenue, Firestone Meeting agenda and link to streaming More Information Since purchasing the 252 acres at Central Park in 2005, the Town has considered a wide mix of uses, and multiple conceptual plans have been developed, considered, and revised - including the Central Park Master Plan approved in 2021. Although these efforts helped better understand the site, many did not include costs or potential funding sources to bring the plans to life. In 2023, Firestone residents were invited to complete a community survey that included several questions about Central Park. The results have helped inform our next steps as we continue to collaboratively work with residents to create a vision for developing Central Park that we can all be proud of. In December, the Board of Trustees hired a team of outside experts, P3 Advisors, to create a process for the community, Town leadership, and potential partners to work together on an actionable plan to bring Central Park to life.
