AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF' THE TOWN OF FIRESTONE, COLORADO,
IMPLEMENTING A VOTER -APPROVED CHANCE IN THE TOWN'S REGULAR ELECTION DATE
AND ESTABLISHING THE NEW REGULAR ELECTION DATE FOR THE TOWN OF FIRESTONE
WHEREAS, on July 9, 2025, the Town of Firestone ("Ton") Board of I rustees ('`Board") adopted
Resolution No. 2025-74 calling a special election on Noember 4, 2025, to present a ballot question to the eligible
electors of the Town to move the Town's regular election from the first Tuesday in April of each even -numbered year
to the Tuesday on which the general statewide election is held in No =ember of each even -numbered year; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2025-74 provides that the Town Board shall enact an implementing ordinance
consistent with the terms and conditions in the text and title of the ballot issue fixed therein; and
WHEREAS, at the November 4, 2025 special election, a majority of the Town's voters approved of the ballot
text and title fixed in Resolution No, 2025-74; and
WHEREAS, the "town Board desires to implement the will of the Town's voters by establishing the Town's
new regular election date.
NOW, , THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES F THE TOWN OF
FIRESTONE, COLORADO
Section 1.- Date of regular election and conduct of all elections. '11, he regular election of the Town shall
be held on the Tuesday on which the general statewide election is held in November of each even -numbered year. All
elections shall be held and conducted in accordance with the Colorado Municipal Election Code of 1965. The Town
may by ordinance or resolution determine to follow all or part of the provisions of the I.Jniform Election Code for any
election.
Section 2. Transition to November Regular Elections. Notwithstanding any other prov=ision of the
Firestone Municipal Code to the contrary, and to effectuate the will of the electors voting in favor of a change in the
Town's regular election date, the terms of Board members Fhose terms will expire in April 2026 shall be extended to
the November 2026 regular election,
Section 3, If any article, section, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is held to be
unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision will not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining
portions of this ordinance. The Board of Trustees hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance and each
part or parts hereof irrespective of the fact that any one part or parts was declared unconstitutional or invalid.
Section 4. All other ordinances or portions thereof inconsistent or conflicting with this ordinance or any
portion hereof are hereby repeated to the extent of such inconsistency or conflict.
