A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF
FIRESTONE, COLORADO, DESIGNATING THE POSTING LOCATION FOR
NOTICE OF MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND ALL OTHER
LOCAL PUBLIC BODIES OF THE TOWN
WHEREAS, C.R.S. § 24-6-402 (2)(c) requires that the Board of Trustees annually
designate at the Board's first regular meeting of each calendar year the public place for posting of
notice for the meetings of the Board of Trustees and other local public bodies of the Town; and
WHEREAS, local public body means any municipality, board, committee, commission,
authority, or other advisory, policymaking or formally constituted body of the Town; and
WHEREAS, with the goal of having local governments transition from the posting of
notices at a fixed physical location the legislature amended the Open Meetings Law to permit the
posting of meetings of local public bodies upon a public website no less than twenty-four hours
before the meeting; and
WHEREAS, the legislature further declared that a local public body posting on a public
website would constitute full and timely notice of a public meeting and that it would monitor the
transition with the goal of having notice of all public meetings posted online; and
WHEREAS, this Resolution is to apply only to those meetings for which applicable state
or local law requires public notice to be posted by the Town as a Town -conducted meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board of Trustees wishes to designate the location for posting notice
of its meetings as set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE TOWN OF FIRESTONE, COLORADO:
Section 1. Pursuant to C.R.S. § 24-6-402 (2)(c)(III), the Town of Firestone's official
website, www.firestoneco.gov, is hereby designated as the public place for posting of notices of
meetings of the town Board of Trustees and all other town boards, commissions, agencies and
committees.
Section 2. Pursuant to C.R.S. § 24-6-402 (2)(c), notice of meetings of the Board of
Trustees and other local public bodies of the Town shall be posted at the Firestone Town Hall,.
Pursuant to C.R.S. § 24-6-402(2)(c)(III), notices of such meetings shall also be published no less
than twenty-four hours prior to the holding of such meeting at the following secondary locations: i)
at the front reception area located immediately within the internal entrance to Firestone Town Hall,
located at 9950 Park Ave., Firestone, CO, 80504; ii) on a bulletin board, kiosk, computer monitor,
television screen, or other manner or method of visible display within the publicly accessible main
entrance, entry way, vestibule, or exterior of Town Hall, located at 9950 Park Ave., Firestone, CO,
80504; and iii) at the U.S. Post Office, located at 478 1st St., Firestone, Colorado 80520, if the
timely online posting of notice of such meetings is disrupted or delayed due to internet service
interruption or a power outage.
