Traffic Calming in Neighbors Point - 8/7/2024
Traffic Calming in Neighbors Point Attention Parents & Guardians at Centennial Elementary School! The Board of Trustees identified the area surrounding Centennial Elementary School in the Neighbor's Point Subdivision as an area of concern regarding pedestrian and traffic safety. The Town has been working with the Neighbors Point HOA and St. Vrain Valley School District to address these concerns. In January, Town Staff recommended three phases of construction based on funding availability to improve these concerns. The first phase of improvements are complete. This included new signage and striping improvements. A new "Hug and Go Lane" with signs and street paintings is located on the north side of Neighbors Parkway. For those who drive to pick up or drop off kids, 10-minute parking will be enforced in this area. It is recommended to enter Neighborʼs Point from Buffalo Street off Sable Ave. New stop signs at Neighbors Parkway and Bluegrass Street. No parking or stopping is allowed on the south side of Neighbors Parkway, and this will be enforced in this area. Please remember to be respectful of the neighbors in the area by not blocking any driveways and to never block fire hydrants. Future Phases Phase II - Traffic Control at Crossing Intersections (Two HAWK Signals - Neighbors Pkwy & Birch St, Buffalo St & Sable Ave) are currently in design. Phase III - Curb Extensions/Bulb-Outs on Neighbors Parkway will be considered once Phase I and II are completed and their effectiveness can be evaluated.
