Their rankings were based on the most recent FBI crime report data and factored in rates of violent crime (murder, assault, rape) and property crime (burglary, theft, vehicle theft). In addition, they utilized population size and access to amenities. 7. Firestone In northern Coloradoʼs Weld County, Firestone offers a friendly small-town environment. Its violent and property crime rates are a fraction of the national average. Parks and recreation centers provide plenty of family activities. New neighborhoods are being constructed as Firestone grows. Itʼs near major employment centers while retaining its peaceful atmosphere. Police Chief David Angelo expressed his gratitude for the recognition these Top 10 lists bring to the department, stating, "We are committed to continuously improving public safety in Firestone through technological advancements and by building a team that upholds a culture of accountability and a standard of excellence.
