HomeMy WebLinkAboutCentral Park Community Conversations - 4/28/2026Central Park Community Conversations Tuesday, May 5 & Wednesday, May 6 The Town of Firestone invites residents and community partners to take part in upcoming Central Park Community Conversations, an opportunity to learn about the projectʼs progress, ask questions, and help shape what comes next. Join the Board of Trustees, Town staff, and Card & Associates for a brief presentation followed by open discussion. Your feedback is an important part of this process, and these sessions are designed to ensure the community stays informed, involved, and heard as plans move forward. Community members are welcome to attend any of the following sessions: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 Carbon Valley Community Center 151 Grant Avenue 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Registration is required for this session, as it coincides with the Friendly Fork lunch program. Wednesday, May 6, 2026 Firestone Police Department & Municipal Court Building 9900 Park Avenue Session 1: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. (Training Room) Session 2: 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. (Board Room/Court Room) The 7:00 p.m. session on May 6 will be streamed live and available for later viewing for those unable to attend in person. Please note: These sessions will take place instead of hosting the monthly Chat with a Trustee event on Wednesday, May 6. Project Background At the February 18, 2026, Board of Trustees meeting, the Board reviewed the Central Park Pre- Development Agreement between USL, Card & Associates, and the Town of Firestone. Following the discussion, the Board directed staff to terminate the agreement with USL, formally removing them from the project. Notice was issued on February 24, 2026. Since that time, Town staff and Card & Associates have been working to define a new Agreement for Services to explore the development of a portion of the Townʼs Central Park property and refine the project scope, including development phasing. These Community Conversations are a key step in that process, providing the community with an opportunity to better understand the projectʼs direction and share input that will help inform next steps.
