HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026 Street Maintenance Project - 6/5/20262026 Street Maintenance Project Beginning Monday, June 8, 2026, a Town of Firestone contractor will begin work on the 2026 Street Maintenance Project. Work will include roadway patching, milling, asphalt overlay, traffic control, pavement markings, street striping, and associated restoration activities. Project Areas: Firestone Boulevard (0.72 miles) – Frontage Road to Birch Street Jake Jabs Boulevard (0.36 miles) – Firestone Boulevard south to the end of the roadway Project Schedule Weather permitting, work is expected to begin on June 8, 2026, and be completed by July 10, 2026. Regular work hours will be: Daytime: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday Nighttime (as needed): 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Night work may be utilized to help reduce traffic impacts and expedite project completion. Please note that schedules are subject to change. Any significant schedule updates will be communicated to the community. Residents and businesses directly affected by the work will receive additional notifications from the contractor with more specific information regarding construction activities near their properties. Travel Impacts Motorists should expect temporary traffic impacts throughout the project, including: Single-lane closures with alternating traffic during active construction Temporary lane shifts and traffic pattern changes Reduced speed limits through work zones Periodic traffic delays Occasional weekend work, if necessary Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through construction areas, to follow all posted traffic control signs, to reduce speeds, and to allow extra travel time.
