2026 Street Maintenance Project Next Phase Begins Monday Beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, a Town of Firestone contractor will begin work on the next phase of the 2026 Street Maintenance Project. Work will include patching, crack sealing, chip sealing, including traffic control, street striping, pavement markings, and restoration as needed. Project Areas Chip Sealed: Birch Street: from Sable Ave south to the end of the maintenance area CR 26: between CR 5 and CR 7 Slurry Sealed: Colorado Blvd: from CR 26, north 0.5 mile Chip Patched: Sable Ave: from Birch Ave to Colorado Blvd, Colorado Blvd to Frontier St Frontier St: from Sable Ave to Firestone Blvd Pine Cone Ave: from Colorado Blvd to Frontier St, east to the end of the maintenance area Crack Sealed: CR 9.5/East Frontage Road: asphalt portion from St. Vrain Bridge north to Ronald Regan Blvd CR 9.5/East Frontage Road: concrete Portion from St. Vrain Bridge south to Firestone Blvd CR 19: from SH66 south to CR 16 CR 26: from Colorado Blvd east to Frontier St Project Schedule Weather permitting, work is expected to begin on July 6, 2026, and be completed this fall. Regular work hours will be: Daytime: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday Nighttime (as needed): 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Night work may be utilized to help reduce traffic impacts and expedite project completion. Please note that schedules are subject to change. Any significant schedule updates will be communicated to the community. Travel Impacts Motorists should expect temporary traffic impacts throughout the project, including: Single-lane closures with alternating traffic during active construction Temporary lane shifts and traffic pattern changes Reduced speed limits through work zones Periodic traffic delays Occasional weekend work, if necessary Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through construction areas, to follow all posted traffic control signs, to reduce speeds, and to allow extra travel time.
