HomeMy WebLinkAbout21-16 Emergency Telephonic Participation Work Sessions 01-20-2021RESOLUTION N0.21-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF FIRESTONE, COLORADO, AMENDING THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES HANDBOOK TO AUTHORIZE THE USE OF TELEPHONIC PARTICIPATION FOR WORK SESSIONS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES WHEREAS, on March 10, 2020, Governor Jared Polis, in accordance with the Colorado Disaster Emergency Act ("Act"), C.R.S. §24-33.5-704, by proclamation, declared a state of emergency in Colorado to provide access to resources, legal flexibility, and protect vulnerable communities, all to better contain the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus; and WHEREAS, in accordance with C.R.S. §24-33.5-709, on March 18, 2020, the Town Manager declared a local disaster ("Declaration of Disaster"), which was continued until further notice by the Board of Trustees on March 25, 2020; and WHEREAS, the Town's Declaration of Disaster activated the Town's Emergency Telephonic Meeting Participation procedure, which was enacted as a result of the 2013 Floods and also set forth in Resolution 1447; and WHEREAS, as the Declaration of Disaster will continue for an unknown length of time, the Board of Trustees ("Board") to conduct necessary business extended the Telephonic Meeting Policy to include executive sessions and quasi judicial matters; and WHEREAS, to provide transparency in its endeavors the Board desires to further expand the Telephonic Meeting Policy to include work sessions; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF FIRESTONE, COLORADO: Section 1: Section 3 of the Board of Trustees Handbook's Telephonic Meeting Policy is amended by addition of the following: Telephonic participation shall be permitted for work sessions. 1 INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED thiZTday of 520210 ATTEST: J si a Koenig, CMC, T ROVED AS TO William ttorney i ry O� .GOB OUNIN WN OF FIRESTONE, COLORADO bi Siar, Mayor
