Re: Air Monitoring Program: Te Velde 29-28HZ Pad and Production Facility
Weld County, Colorado
In accordance with CDPHE Regulation 7 VI.C.2.b, Kerr-McGee is submitting the Air Monitoring Report for
Production Rig Drilling and DUCs monitoring from June 1 through 30, 2021 for this location.
Kerr-McGee has contracted Montrose Air Quality Services, LLC (Montrose) to perform the air monitoring
at this location. Attached is the Air Monitoring Report prepared by Montrose Air Monitoring was conducted
in accordance with the Kerr-McGee Air Monitoring Program approved by CDPHE in a letter dated April 20,
2021. Results from 35 air samples from carbon desorption tubes and SUMMA® canisters are included in
this report. All results are below the health guidance values (HGVs) guidelines compiled by the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE).
The Air Monitoring Program establishes three (3) levels of investigation responses to ensure protection of
public health, safety, welfare, the environment, and wildlife resources. Sections 8 and 9 of the air
monitoring program detail these levels and responses. If a Level 3 event occurs, Kerr-McGee will notify
the CDPHE and local government with jurisdiction over this pad within 48 hours of receiving notification.
There were no readings from the continuous PID analyzers or analytical results above the Investigation
Levels.

Project Overview
Summary
Montrose Air Quality Services, LLC (Montrose) was contracted by Kerr-McGee Oil & Gas
Onshore LP (Kerr-McGee) to conduct air monitoring at the Te Velde 29-28HZ Pad. This
report covers the reporting period from May 14 through June 30, 2021, during Pre-
Operations, Production Drilling, and the period between drilling and completions (DUCs).
Pre-Operations monitoring began on May 14 through June 5, 2021. Production Drilling
monitoring occurred from June 6, 2021 to June 23, 2021. DUCs monitoring began on June
24, 2021. Air Monitoring was conducted in accordance with the Kerr-McGee Air
Monitoring Program approved by CDPHE in a letter dated April 20, 2021. All air samples
taken during the reporting period were well below the Health Guidance Values (HGVs)
compiled by the CDPHE. There were no readings from the continuous PID analyzers or
analytical results above the Investigation Levels.
Project Scope
Continuous monitoring for VOCs and passive sampling for benzene commenced on May
14, 2021. The PID analyzers (named “SPOD”) used around the Te Velde 29-28HZ facility
were manufactured by SENSIT. Each sensor is solar powered and transmits data to the
data platform via LTE cell technology. The data is 128-bit encrypted during transmission.
Four (4) sensors monitored for VOCs and one (1) for the meteorological parameters during
the reporting period. All sampling was performed by Montrose.

Methodology
Continuous Monitoring
The monitoring on the perimeter of the well pad is being performed using PID VOC
analyzers. In the device sampling occurs by allowing the ambient air to passively enter the
devices exterior housing via small holes and pass over the surface of the sensor. Each
device used in this project is solar powered and transmits data via cellular.
A PID sensor contains a lamp that produces photons that carry enough energy to break
molecules into ions. The PID will only respond to molecules that have an ionization energy
at or below the energy of the lamp, the PID used on this project employs a 10.6 electron-
volt lamp. The produced ions then generate an electrical current that is measured as the
output of the detector. The PID used in this monitoring campaign is manufactured by
IonScience, a United Kingdom company. The sensor mitigates the traditional PID issue of
humidity bias, by installing a hydrophobic filter between the lamp and the ambient air.
Water molecules are deterred from entering the ion producing chamber and absorbing
radiation. The PID themselves are also heated slightly above ambient temperature to
improve stability of the detector.
All continuous monitoring equipment operation and maintenance procedures followed the
Quality Assurance Project Plan provided in the Kerr-McGee Air Monitoring Program.
Carbon Sorbent Tubes
For the passive sorbent tube sampling portion of this test program, EPA Method 325A/B
entitled “Volatile Organic Compounds from Fugitive and Area Sources” was followed for
both sampling and analysis methodology.
The study incorporated passive sampling for Benzene utilizing Carbopack X™ tubes. The
tube is a stainless steel net cylinder, with 100 mesh grid opening and 5.8 mm diameter,
packed with 530 ± 30 mg of activated charcoal with particle size 35-50 mesh. Volatile
organic compounds are trapped by adsorption. The tube is desorbed using a thermal
desorber and the extract is analyzed using GC/MS. Benzene concentrations are calculated
using the mass of each compound found, the validated Carbopack X™ uptake rates, time
sampled, and average field temperature.
Field-ready passive samplers were provided in a background-free cooler by Enthalpy
Analytical, LLC (Enthalpy) in Durham, North Carolina. Tubes are individually packaged
in individual sealed glass vials prevent protection against contamination. The cooler
included ice packs to keep the sampled tubes cool throughout the shipping process.
All Carbon Sorbent Tube field sampling followed the SOP provided in the Kerr-McGee
Air Monitoring Program.

SUMMA® Canister
For the summa canister sampling portion of this test program, EPA Compendium Method
TO-15 entitled “Determination of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in Air Collected
in Specially Prepared Canisters and Analyzed by Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry
(GC/MS)” (“Method TO-15”) was followed for both sampling and analysis methodology.
Entech Instruments Silonite™ CS1200E Passive Canister Samplers were used to collect
samples over each 24-hour period. The Entech canisters used were six-liter stainless
canisters lined with ultra-inert surface coatings. The canisters were cleaned and blanked
for use according to laboratory standard operating procedures.
The canister samples were shipped to the Enthalpy laboratory where the samples were
analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes.
All SUMMA® canister field sampling followed the SOP provided in the Kerr-McGee Air
Monitoring Program.
Phase of Operation and Activities During Reporting Period
In Appendix E is the operational activity during the reporting period.
Summary of Down Time or Equipment Malfunction
The PID Analyzers data recovery, which includes equipment malfunctions, during the
reporting period are shown in the table below.
The post-monitoring bump test results for June on PID analyzer at location T17 was outside
the range set in the Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP). The procedures outlined in
the QAPP, which is part of the approved Kerr-McGee Air Monitoring Program, were
followed. A full three-point calibration was conducted on the unit and the analyzer was
thoroughly inspected. The equipment passed QA/QC checks and the bump test
demonstrated the units were still linear. The units seemed to have drifted more than is
typical over a one-month period, which is not unusual for monitors of this type. The
analyzer data is valid but data for the month of April for these analyzers may be biased
high. No correction was applied to the data.
Summary of Investigations and Response
The Kerr-McGee Air Monitoring Program establishes Investigation Levels for the
continuous monitors and analytical results. If an Investigation Level is triggered, the
monitoring program outlines an Investigation Level Response for each level.

During this reporting period, there were no continuous monitor readings or analytical
results that exceeded an Investigation Level.

Investigation Level 3: No notifications to CDPHE and the local government with
jurisdiction over the location of the operations within forty-eight (48) hours of responsive
action(s) taken as a result of recorded values in excess of the Investigation Level 3 were
required.
