In 2017, the Town began converting Mountain Shadows Park irrigation to a non-potable system. The well to provide the water was drilled in 2018, but the park was never fully converted to the new system. The first action taken was to update the agreement with McGrane Water Engineering, Inc. who has served as the lead design professional for this project since its inception in 2017. The updated agreement more clearly defines the budget for the project and their scope of services. The second action was for a construction contract for the irrigation well pump station in Mountain Shadows Park, where the previously drilled irrigation well is located. This facility will allow Firestone to convert the park's irrigation system, and an adjacent public trail irrigation system, to a non-potable water supply. The project includes the installation of a pre- manufactured shed, a well pump, pump controls, and the associated pipe network. $20 Million Debt Retirement Notice Approved During Wednesday nightʼs meeting, the Board of Trustees approved Resolution 23-67, which authorized the Town Manager to provide a 30-day notice to Vectra Bank (Zions Bancorporation) that the Town of Firestone intends to retire, in its entirety, the 2022 Town of Firestone Water Enterprise Revenue Bonds that were issued in December of 2022 for the purchase of native water rights and water storage.
