HomeMy WebLinkAboutMiller (Multi Wells) - Start of Plugging Operations - Crestone - 5/8/2019
May 8, 2019
Crestone Peak Resources will soon begin the task of plugging and abandoning the nearby
Miller 3-17J and the Miller 2-17 wells. These sites are both north of County Road 20 and east of
Frontier Street.
In the next week, a truck mounted service rig will move in and rig up on the well pad. The crew
will pull tubing out of the well, set a permanent plug in the wellbore, and cement the well per
Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) regulations. Once set, the cement
casing will be cut-off below surface and a metal plate will be welded into place. All production
facility equipment and the flowlines connected to this site will be removed as well.
Equipment expected on location during this time includes a truck mounted service rig, various
pieces of heavy equipment, temporary water tanks, trucks and worker pickup trucks. All access
to this site is limited to the designated access route.
This activity is expected to take about two weeks to complete. This includes plugging and
abandoning the wells; removing all surface equipment and flow lines; and interim reclamation
of the site which includes grading, re-contouring and re-seeding the location. Reclamation is
done per Crestone’s agreement with the surface owner.
