HomeMy WebLinkAboutDIER, MILLER, & KUGEL (Multi-Wells) - Start of Plugging Operations - Crestone - 8/8/2019 July 8, 2019 In the month of July, Crestone will be in and around Firestone plugging and abandoning existing oil and natural gas wells that are no longer needed given nearby development. The locations that the plug and abandon activity will take place at include: • Dier 34-8, 44-8 o Location is north of County Road 22 just east of County Road 15 ½ . • Miller 44-17, 34-17, 13-17, CJ 17-A, 4-17 o Location is north of County Road 20 just east of County Road 15. • Miller 12-17 o Location is south of County Road 22 just west of County Road 15. • Kugel 42-18, 41-18 & 2-18 o Location is south of County Road 22 just east of Colorado Blvd. In the next month, a truck mounted service rig will move in and rig up around the well sites. The crew will pull tubing out of the well, set a permanent plug in the wellbore, and cement the well per Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) regulations. Once set, the cement casing will be cut-off below surface and a metal plate will be welded into place. Sites will be reclaimed per Crestone's agreement with the surface owner which includes the removal of surface equipment. Equipment expected on location during this time includes a truck mounted service rig, various pieces of heavy equipment, temporary water tanks, trucks and worker pickup trucks. All access to this site is limited to the designated access route. This activity is expected to take about four weeks to complete.
