Firestone Police Department is Going Pink! - 9/30/2019
Picture L-R: Sergeant Bringle, Corporal Ross and Officer Torres Firestone Police Department is Going Pink! The month of October is nationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year the Firestone Police Department will be participating in the annual campaign by wearing pink badges all month long. This campaign is aimed at awareness of the disease and to support research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Many of our community members, including some of our own friends and family, have been affected by breast or other types of cancer. βIt seems as though everyone has a story how they have been impacted by cancer. My sister, Stephanie Bringle, passed away in 2017, after her second battle with breast cancer,β said Sergeant Curt Bringle, βI am honored that we, as a Department, will be participating in this campaign.β Throughout the month of October, the Firestone Police Department will be sharing stories from staff who have been impacted by breast cancer, and other diseases. There are many different cancer-related awareness campaigns that occur throughout the year, and we encourage the public to stay up-to-date on the latest ways to detect diseases early and continue to support those who are fighting.
