Dear Residents,
We are writing to inform you that Anadarko will begin actively developing nine new oil and natural gas
wells in and around your community this winter. Please see the map on the reverse side of this letter for
the planned location of the wells. Our goal is to provide you with timely information about our
operations and listen to your feedback.
Enclosed you will also find a flier with a description of the different phases of new well development.
You will begin to see our team members on site in the coming weeks as they prepare the locations
(Phase 1)for horizontal drilling.Next,a drilling rig will begin the underground well construction process
by installing steel pipe and cement (surface casing)to protect groundwater (Phase 2).Horizontal drilling
(Phase 3)is expected to begin in late January and is likely to extend through mid-March 2019.We will
send additional information as plans to conduct hydraulic fracturing, facility construction, and
reclamation (Phases 4-6)progress.
We strive to make our activities as compatible as we can with the surrounding community and use a
variety of mitigation techniques to reduce the temporary impacts to the community. All of our
operations are planned with health, safety and the environment as our top priority.
If at any time you would like additional information or wish to report an issue related to our operations,
you may reach us through the Anadarko Colorado Response Line. We welcome your feedback at any
time as we perform work near your community.
Sincerely,
Stakeholder Relations Team

PAD CONSTRUCTION
DAYS
10 -30
Per Pad
•Typical earthmoving equipment prepares the well
site.
•A wall or straw bales may be
installed to reduce or minimize noise and light
during future operational
phases.
SURFACE CASING SET
DAYS
3 -5Per Well
•A drilling rig will begin the
underground construction
process by installing steel pipe
and cement (surface casing) to
protect groundwater.•Surface casing is set below the
Fox Hills aquifer,
which is ~1,000’ below the
surface.
•Trucks equipped with hydraulic
pumps send water and sand
down the wellbore to fracture
the rock so that oil and natural
gas can be produced. •95% of all wells in the U.S.
require fracking to produce oil
and natural gas.
•Visit fracfocus.org for
specific well details.
PRODUCTION FACILITY CONSTRUCTION
•Production facilities are constructed adjacent to the
wells to collect and separate the
oil, natural gas, and water that
are produced. •Anadarko’s wells are monitored
with remote automation.
RECLAIMED WELL SITE
•Once development phases are
complete, the pad will be
reclaimed to match the existing
landscape.
•Each well will produce energy for
decades to come.

HORIZONTAL DRILLING
•A production rig arrives and
drills to a depth of 7,000 to
8,000 feet.
•The horizontal portion of the wellbore can extend more
than 2 miles.
