Board of Trustees Action Items - July 22 - 7/24/2020
Board of Trustees Action Items Wednesday, July 22, 2020 Firestone City Centre Final Development Plan After a Public Hearing, the Board of Trustees approved a Final Development Plan (FDP) for Lot 1, Firestone City Centre Subdivision Filing No. 3, located south of Firestone Boulevard and north of American Furniture Warehouse. The lot is 1.88 acres in size and the proposed building is 7,033 square feet, with 53 parking spaces. The FDP is the final step in the Firestone Development Review process prior to the building permit process. The users of the building have not been announced, but it is anticipated to be occupied by retail and/or restaurant tenants. 2020 Clean-Up Day Presentation During Wednesday night’s meeting, the Board of Trustees heard an update from the Director of Public Works on the 2020 Clean-Up Day event. The event was originally scheduled for April, but due to COVID-19 and the Stay-at- Home Order, was re-scheduled for the end of June. Firestone residents were invited to bring unwanted household debris to Firestone’s Public Works facility. During the 6 hour event, there were 955 loads dropped off from 742 households. Please call individual businesses for details on hours of availability, accepted items, amounts and the fees associated. Park & Open Space Dedication Requirements Established The Board of Trustees approved a resolution establishing ratios for the calculation of parks and open space dedication and, if applicable, amounts for the associated fee-in-lieu amounts under the recently adopted Firestone Development Code (FDC). The FDC requires new residential developments to provide for new parks and open space land at a level of service consistent with current parks and open space levels of service. The Board of Trustees view this is an important step to ensuring that parks, open spaces and trails continue to be a priority to the community and developers.
