HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Trustees Action Items - January 27 - 1/29/2021Board of Trustees Action Items Wednesday, January 27, 2021 Parks, Open Space and Trails Master Plan Adopted The Board of Trustees adopted the Parks, Open Space and Trails (POST) Master Plan during Wednesday night’s meeting. The POST Master Plan will be used in conjunction with the Master Plan (Comprehensive Plan), and the Town’s goals to guide the development of future parks and recreational amenities and the enhancement of existing resources that will best meet the needs of this community. Background: On July 24, 2019, the Board of Trustees approved an agreement between the Town of Firestone and Bishop Layton Inc dba Design Concepts to prepare the POST Master Plan. Design Concepts worked with Town Staff, key stakeholders, Parks, Trails Advisory Board, Board of Trustees, and the public to draft the Town's first POST Master Plan. On July 15, 2020, Design Concepts presented a recap of the POST Master Plan's final draft during the Board's work session. Carbon Valley Emergency Operations Plan During Wednesday night’s meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a resolution approving the 2020 Carbon Valley Emergency Operations Plan. The Carbon Valley Emergency Operations Plan addresses prevention, protection, preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. The City of Dacono and the Towns of Firestone and Frederick in conjunction with the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District and Mountain View Fire- Rescue District have collaboratively developed the Carbon Valley Emergency Operations Plan. The Carbon Valley Emergency Plan provides for a “whole community” approach to ensure that the participating entities can collectively prepare for, protect, mitigate against, and respond to and recover from any disaster. In 2019, the Town of Firestone entered into an IGA with the City of Dacono, Town of Frederick, the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District, and Mountain View Fire Protection District to establish an emergency management service area and an emergency management coordinator.
