Dear Community Members, We would like to provide you with an update regarding the three oil and natural gas wells in the Oak Meadows neighborhood. We will be performing a procedure commonly referred to as Plug and Abandonment (P&A) on the Coors V 6-14JI, Coors V 6-13, and the Coors V 6-13JI wells to permanently remove them from oil and natural gas service. This activity is regulated by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC), and a COGCC inspector will oversee the activities with periodic inspections throughout the operation. In the P&A process, the wells will be plugged, wellheads removed, flow lines abandoned, and the facility removed. This operation will require the use of a work-over rig, cement and water trucks, an Emission Control Device (ECD), hydro-vac truck, backhoe, and other heavy equipment. Crews will begin preparing for this work on August 6 by installing fencing around the perimeter of the location (see map on reverse side for approximate locations), conducting dirt work to prepare the site for the incoming work-over rig, installing rig mats to protect the existing grass, and mobilizing smaller equipment. On August 13 the work-over rig will arrive on location and begin the plug and abandonment operations on the Coors V 6-14JI well. An additional crew will also arrive to begin flow line abandonment work. Following the completion of plug and abandonment of the Coors V 6-14JI well, the work-over rig and associate equipment will be moved to plug and abandon the Coors V 6-13 and Coors V 6-13JI wells. Once the plug and abandonment process has been completed for all three wells the work-over rig and associated equipment will be removed and crews will begin removing the facility. The entirety of this process is expected to take five-to-seven weeks to complete. We recognize that this operation will be impactful to your community. You will notice an increase in traffic and are likely to hear the activity during operations. In an effort to reduce our impacts, crews will be working Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will deploy flaggers to direct and manage traffic on move-in and move-out days for the work-over rig, and we will use the smallest equipment possible to minimize our disturbance to the community. Additionally, we will place source panels around the ECD and the rig engine to minimize noise for the duration of the operations. Thank you for your patience while we perform work in your community.
