HomeMy WebLinkAboutStay in the Know - Marijuana Discussion - 6/10/2021Stay in the Know: Marijuana Discussion at next Work Session The Board of Trustees will meet in a work session from 6:00-7:00 p.m. next Wednesday, June 16, 2021, to discuss marijuana businesses. Recently, the Town of Firestone has been contacted by groups interested in circulating a petition and gathering signatures for a ballot issue that would authorize marijuana businesses in Town and set forth licensing regulations for such businesses. The Board of Trustees plans to meet in a work session to discuss this process and if they should work with the petitioners to develop licensing regulations that are favorable to the Town. In addition, if such businesses were to be approved, the Town plans to discuss the process and timing of implementing taxes on marijuana. While there is not typically a public comment portion of a work session, the public will be invited to speak.
