AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF
FIRESTONE, COLORADO, AMENDING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE
PRESIDING MUNICIPAL COURT .TIJDGE
WHEREAS, in accordance with C.R.S. § 13-10-107, the Board of Trustees shall
by ordinance provide for the salary of the municipal court and assistant judges; and
WHEREAS, such compensation shall be a fixed annuaJ amount and payable on a
monthly or other periodic basis; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees, based upon one court session per month,
established upon adoption of Ordinance No. 1041A the municipal judges annual
compensation at $13 200, payable at the rate of $1,100 per month; and
WHEREAS, since his appointment in January 2021 the courts docket has
significantly increased and the Board of Trustees desires to increase the judge's annuaJ
compensation to $18,000 payable at the rate of $1,500 per month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF FIRESTONE, COLORADO:
Section I. Effective February 1, 2024 the compensation for the municipal court judge
shall be $18,000 per annum payable at the rate of $1,500 per month.
Section 2. If any a11icle, section, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this
ordinance is held to be unconstitu tional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect
the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The Board of
Trustees hereby declare it would have passed this ordinance and each part or parts hereof
irrespective of the fact that an) one part or parts be declared unconstitutionaJ or invalid.
Section 3. All other ordinances or portions thereof inconsistent or conflicting with
this ordinance or any po11ion hereof are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency or
conflict.
