994 Repealing in its entirety and reenacting and retitling Chapter 2.04 Board of Trustees and Mayor of Municode 04-28-2021ORDINANCE NO. 994 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF FIRESTONE, COLORADO, REPEALING IN ITS ENTIRETY AND REENACTING AND RETITLING CHAPTER 2.04 BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND MAYOR WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees has adopted an updated Board of Trustees Rules of Procedure, which necessitates that it repeal the rules of procedure set forth in Chapter 2.04 of the Firestone Municipal Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF FIRESTONE, COLORADO: Section 1. Chapter 2.04, Board of Trustees and Mayor, of the Firestone Municipal Code is repealed in its entirety and reenacted and retitled "Board of Trustees Terms and Compensation." to provide as follows: 2.04.010, Trustees Term of Office At the April 4, 1972, election, six Trustees shall be elected. The three candidates for Trustee receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected for four-year terms, and the three candidates for Trustee receiving the next highest numbers of votes shall be elected for two-year terms. At the next subsequent regular election and at each regular election thereafter, three Trustees shall be elected to serve four-year terms. 2.04.020, Trustees Compensation A.Compensation -Mayor. The Mayor of the Town shall be compensated at the rate of three hundred fifty dollars per month. Such rate shall apply only upon commencement of the Mayor's term of office following an election held on or after April 3, 2018. B.Compensation -Trustees. Each Trustee shall be compensated at the rate of three hundred dollars per month. Such rate shall apply only upon commencement of the te1m of office of a Trustee whose position is subject to an election held on or after April 3, 2018. C.Restrictions on reappointment or reelection. Any trustee or Mayor who has resigned or vacated an office prior to the end of his or her elective or appointive term shall not be eligible for reelection or reappointment to such office during such te1m if during such term the compensation has been increased. D.Other compensation. The Mayor and Trustees may be reimbursed for expenses incun-ed in the performance of Town business, provided that such expenses are itemized and approved by the Board of Trustees. Section 2. If any article, section, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect 1
